Terms of Service.
Effective: January 1, 2020 · Last Updated: June 17, 2026
Service & payments.
Scope, timelines, revisions, and how refunds work.
1 Service Scope and Duration
- All services are delivered as one-time digital projects unless otherwise specified.
- Clients must begin and complete their project within 60 calendar days from purchase. This includes intake calls, revisions, and final approvals.
- Projects delayed due to client inactivity beyond 60 days may be considered closed. Reopening is subject to availability and may incur a restart fee.
- Pricing at time of purchase is honored for 60 days. If your project is reopened after expiration and prices have increased, a price adjustment may apply in accordance with California law.
2 Project Initiation, Revisions & Completion
- Projects begin when the client provides all required intake information or completes the intake call.
- If new employment history or role information is provided after a draft has been delivered, a $100 fee per position applies.
- Clients may request unlimited revisions while the résumé is live in Google Docs and prior to final approval. Once approved, further requests may be considered a new project.
- Revisions must be performed in Google Docs using the draft file from area|Talent. We do not work from edits made outside the draft.
- A project will be considered closed if no client activity occurs within 30 days after a draft has been delivered.
3 Payment & Refund Policy
- Full payment is due at time of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- All refund requests must be made within 7 days of purchase. After 7 days, no refunds are issued under any circumstance, regardless of whether a project has begun — the amount paid remains on file as credit toward future services.
- GPTs are not eligible for refunds. All GPT sales are final.
Refund Eligibility (within 7 days of purchase only)
- 100% Refund (minus processing fee): No coaching session or intake call has been scheduled yet.
- 50% Refund: A session was scheduled, but the client cancels before the meeting takes place.
- No Refund: The scheduled session or intake call has already taken place, even within the 7-day window.
In any case where a refund is not issued, the amount paid remains on file as credit toward future area|Talent services. This credit may also be transferred to another individual at the client's request. Refunds, when issued, will be sent via Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle if the original payment method does not allow direct reversal.
